Hooo!! This few days r realli v fun! Although the visit's primary aim is to attend a wedding dinner n to interact with relatives, but i still did find the visit v fulfilling. The first day is a wedding dinner(buffet style) at my cousin's hse. They invited many relatives to stayover(from both the cousin's and her husband's side to attend their daugther's wedding) and so i have a big task to recognise and to patch up with them after 7 years not visiting them. and whao.. many of the kids grew up to become fine youths. And then gambling-in-hse commences, and that involves all ages, 16-year-old all the way to 70-year-old. I lost some $$.. boohoo..
The 2nd day is hectic for my cousin.. as her daughter is getting married on this fine occasion. And the family size is very huge.. thus, help came from every one(we r all helpful people), and things went on smoothly. The ceremony is very tradition.. with the brothers' troop trying to get past the sisters' troop using all sorts of methods, like doing push ups, eating funny stuffs prepared by sisters' side, singing love songs, and also not forgetting to stuff the angpow with a sum required by the sisters' side to get past them. Then is the tea ceremony.. haha i gotten an angpow too, though i am more senior than the bride(not in age, but in the family status sense), cos i am single. Afternoon is left for shopping in a local shopping mall. The night is followed by the wedding dinner at a restuarant.
The 3rd day is mostly spent interacting with the many many people there. Gambling as usual, but i didnt join in, cos i was chatting with my other cousins' children( ard 10-15 yrs old, but quite sensible lar..) The night is spent visiting other nearby relatives' houses. And we had got to taste some superior durians picked straight from a small durian trees field nearby one of my cousins' house.
Then 4th day.. some of the relatives bade farewell and went home(they stayed far in other parts of Malaysia) I went to visit my cousin's another daughter's hairdressing shop. She is a hairstylist and e owner, and my mum intended to go there for a hair wash.. then while i was waiting..found that i might as well cut my hair too.. cos i am interested to see how skilful is she. Well, she is pretty talented in this, and thus a good hair cut for me. And i decided to dye my hair a little as well, but didnt know a little is quite a lot..but not bad overall. I am v. satisfied.
Soon we set off for Genting Highlands. This time of the year is rainy season.. thus it is super duper cold up there. The air is fresh! and the wind/gale is gushing till my short hair started to get messed up even with gel to hold them in place. The mist is soooooo heavy till it is almost impossible to see any thing in 10 meters distance from me. We rented a super big room for ard 20 of us (the majority of the rest didnt join us... which makes the trip there 7 or 8 years ago seemed very lively compared to now). But my aim is to get into the casino.. haha.. straight after dinner, the ahemm.. adults got to the Casino, while those underage goes to look ard.
My sis got kicked out while trying to get in.. that day is her bdae.. but too bad is not the 21st, is the 20th. They also checked mine.. cos i looked too young to be a 21. Then i arrogantly showed them my IC. Haha.
Ok lar, the casino is not as fun as i think .. cos the bets r rather high. No $$ for the bet. One decent roulette game of 10RM per bet can take ard 50-100 bucks bah.. and that is not a high chance of winning. So if one intends to play for a few rounds, a few hundred dollars is inevitable to be risked. I played the Jackpot machine. I played the minimum of 10 RM per game, and hit 30RM in some occasion, but cos my relatives insisted me to continue in hope of gaining more $$, so i keep playing and lost in the end. But the thing to note is that my 10 RM lasted almost an hr ! Normal people will finish their 10RM in 15 minutes. So i have good luck that night. 2 games of 10 RM, 2 hours, how abt that! and i proceeded to look ard other poker games, those dealers r v. professional. I wonder how they managed to do things so fast and cool and calmly.
But that place is full of smokers... making the entire place so smoky! No smoking! but nobody adheres. stayed there till ard 4 am before eating supper and went back to sleep..
5th day. Woke up and packed stuffs.. decided to go play at the theme park, but becos of the heavy mist , it is not wise to go in as the tix is worthed lesser as lesser games could be played.
And bcos of the limited time left there, we onli walked ard before the younger of the lot of us went to the haunted hse. Damn funni things happen inside. Haha. Then back to KL. Visited the durian farm this time.. finalli saw a durian tree and a peanut crop live. The durians r hanging up on the tree.. so scary! Anytime u might get hurt. And another cousin is pitching a tent there to pick those ripe durians which dropped down in case other villagers go to steal their durians.
And there is this SUPER huge bee hive. Bigger than my CPU processor.
Although we r at a village , but dun think they r laid back in technology.. still can access online and get to watch EPL matches live.. and of cos gamble soccer.
Then back to the city area.. we r ready to leave the next day. Kind of sad. But no choice. Good things dun last forever.
Day 6, breakfast at a dim sum stall.. Yummy! and i ate till i almost get too full to move myself to the car.. My relatives there r all car owners. Some even own 2 cars(some r family cars), and it is impossible to move ard without a private transport.
After bading farewell, we took a coach back. The journey is smooth as the highway is realli good, and the road is straightened compared to many years ago. But jamming is as usual at the causeway.. the weekend gateaway for many sporeans end up in a jam. i like all types of jam, except traffic jam, cos they cant be spread on breads.
Back to spore, and i realli looked out of the window most of the time to appreciate the nice road lighting we have here, the good traffic systems and transport systems we have , the courteous drivers we have , and the very reason that i am back home in my own country, which i also did my part in defending her sovereignty.
